Indian Head Massage

Originating in the East, Indian head massage is a traditional technique of manipulating soft tissues in the shoulders, neck and scalp to relieve both physical and mental tension. A range of different massage pressures and rhythms are used to stimulate the head and neck area. Although the massage technique focuses on the upper body - back, shoulders neck and head areas - Indian Head Massage is a wonderfully beneficial technique for de-stressing the entire body.

A combination of techniques is used to:

  • Aid the circulatory, muscular and nervous systems
  • Stimulate arterial circulation, and increase venous and lymphatic flow
  • Reduce stress and can induce a feeling of euphoria
  • Free knots of muscular tension and relax connective tissue
  • Stimulate the skin and underlying nerve endings
  • Aid in the elimination of accumulated toxins and waste products

Indian head massage is particularly effective in addressing the effects of stress. It is a suitable therapy for anyone of any age, including the elderly and children.
